Kids & Teens Yoga
A great way for kids to build confidence, self esteem and learn techniques to manage anxiety and stress in a fun and safe environment.

Why Kids & Teens Yoga?
-
Helps children develop a positive image of their body and an awareness of how to look after it.
-
Helps balance energy levels and calms the nervous system with twists that stimulate the spinal cord and regular practice of relaxation
-
Develops sensory awareness – children learn to notice what’s going on in their body and mind while they’re in postures.
-
Yoga can accommodate all body shapes and sizes and is not competitive.
-
More oxygen circulates round the body and brain during yoga practice and breathing exercises, so improving memory retention and learning ability.
-
Children get better at dealing with anxiety and stress because they learn to incorporate relaxation and breathing techniques into daily life.
-
Improves relationships and social awareness through group and partner work.
-
Encourages healthy sleep patterns with the practice of relaxing the body and lengthening the breath.
What does a Kids Yoga Class look like?
-
Classes are curated to focus on developing calm and centred kids, resulting in less anxious behaviour, more emotional regulation and better concentration.
-
Kids learn yoga poses through a variety of methods including yoga games and group work, including partner work.
-
Learning how to manage their breathing is so important for calming the nervous system and managing big emotions, and I teach this using visual prompts, visualisation techniques and props such as feathers and cotton balls.
-
I may include mindfulness exercises and build self-esteem through affirmation exercises.
-
Every class includes guided meditation to ground the children and teach them calming techniques.
